Dr. MacKenzie Douglas

MacKenzie Douglas is a proud native Oregonian, born and raised a country girl in Newberg, Oregon, and a Portland city girl for the past 15 years. She has ties to Multnomah Village since her earliest days, proven by the fact that her very first pet as a baby was a black cat named “Fat City” (named after the famous café down the way). It was meant to be, somehow, that she would end up here in the Village.

Dr. Douglas graduated from Washington State University in 1999, then returned to Portland for dental school at Oregon Health Sciences University, where she graduated in 2005.  She worked at several jobs in the years following, gaining experience in a variety of private practices around the Portland area, as well as an Emergency dental clinic.  There, she spent two years primarily practicing oral surgery and dealing with patients in trauma and pain. It was a fantastic experience, but it was during that time that she realized that she would never be able to find the two most important things that she desired for the future, unless she was able to design her own dental experience for her patients:  1—She wanted to be able to provide the highest quality of care to patients, without the many limitations that she faced as an employee, and 2—to personally choose the individuals that she would spend her days with, to create a “work family” that she would look forward to seeing every day.  She has found these things in Village Family Dental, and in that, she feels blessed, and is loving her chosen career.

MacKenzie has been happily married to her “pre-school sweetheart” from Newberg, Craig Douglas, in 2008. They have two sweet little boys, Boden and Beckham. You can find the family hanging out around the dental office, and the Village, nearly any given day of the week.  Craig is often recruited by the girls to fix things, or put things together around the office, and Boden is our little “dentist-in-training”.  You can often find him by the speakers in the dental operatories, practicing his dance moves. Many of the patients at VFD have come to know little Boden well—it is a “family dental practice”, in every sense of the word.
